The government of Everett Bay is a Representative Democracy. Most of the power is in the hands of the people. Citizens vote to make several of the country's decisions. The people elect a Representative to serve one term every 7 years. Instead of having defined political parties, the twelve districts of the country elect one candidate for the Representative Election. This leader does not have any more power than the people but solely represents the country internationally. The Representative travels internationally, meeting with leaders of other countries. As the face of Everett Bay, the Representative travels the world and meets with its allies about current issues. On occasion, he may also make higher-scale decisions at a federal level. The current Representative is Carl Jacobson. During the Representative election every 7 years, citizens also vote on a leader that oversees the military. This leader proposes ideas on military action. People of the country then vote on the issue involving the military. Santa Guerra is the only city in Everett Bay with a different leader than Representative Carl Jacobson. The city of Santa Guerra is the only part of Everett Bay that distinguishes itself as a self-governing, Spanish territory. The current leader of Santa Guerra is Cesar Hernandez. Santa Guerra follows a constitution put in place in its early history.

Representative Carl Jacobson was elected June 26, 2014. As the current leader of Everett Bay, Representative Jacobson is greatly praised by the citizens of the island. They view him as one of the greatest leaders in the history of Everett Bay. He has improved relations with allies and international affairs. Jacobson is recognized for his work with helping the homeless and efforts of reducing poverty. He has founded a few non-profit organizations that provide aid in poverty stricken areas of the country. At the age of 68, Representative Jacobson has had a successful first three years as the leader of Everett Bay. |
